On Tuesday, the mom’s group at my church started a new series which is Beloved. It’s actually more commonly used in marriage prep courses but it can be used in other groups like this one. It’s actually interesting. The beloved series talks about Marriage and what it means to God and the Catholic Church.
This week’s session was about “Does Marriage Matter?“. We desire desires special unique kind of love in Marriage within our hearts. It’s mentioned that we crave it in four ways which are faithful, permeant, exclusive and love found in God’s plan.
Faithful love is having trust and security. Permanent love is having the peace with your lifetime commitment. Exclusive love is joy in your beloved, whom they give you totally their all in all areas which are emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually and sexually. Love found in God’s plan for marriage is the most rewarding work you will do in your life, even though it may be hard at times.
Being married and in love with your beloved and Jesus leads to happier lives in being more happier in general, having higher psychological well being, greater sexual satisfaction, higher incomes, less violence and longer lifespan. The love that is shared between a husband and wife is truly the participation of God’s love for us and a unique sign of that divine love in the world.
