We wrapped up our Symbolon series this morning at our mom’s group session at the church. This one was the second part to the catholic social teaching that we left off near the end of September.
It is our responsibility to live out Jesus’ truth and grace into our world, the earth while we are still living on it. The gospel is basically our way of life. It brings happiness and the flourishing of human life. The good news isn’t just for Catholics, but for everyone. No matter what or who you are… it applies to every single person. Old, young, and etc. It helps us to be the person we are meant to be in Christ. Everything that we have in this life is a gift and it’s not for us to keep. It’s meant to be given away. We are to protect the human life from conception to death in all levels/areas of things. Family is about love, living and being a complete human person. The economic standpoint of this is that wealth is a gift from God and we are to share. The world really focuses on the “rights”. God truly has a special love for the poor. We live in a culture of distraction. We are to encounter Christ in people who are in need the most. Charity really builds friendships. So that can be anyone close to you. Family, friends, church community, work, strangers, the poor, hungry, etc.
