Today is Good Friday. It’s always remembered that Jesus died on the Cross thousands years ago. It was dark for three hours from 12 to 3. This was part of God’s plan. Many had not believed Jesus and his divine power because he was also physically human. But Jesus is the only one that is both divine and man.
Jesus paid the price for us. Faith in Jesus saves us. The cross saves us. Jesus has many names like high priest, lamb, the final sacrifice, Teacher, Lord, etc. We belong to Jesus. He is our reason for being worthy and for being Christian. We need to be content in ourselves through Him, not anything else in this physical world. Our bodies and lives belong to Christ. We are built from dust and will return to dust when it’s our time. We have the eternal promise of our souls being reunited with the Father. Jesus promises us that we are washed from sin and that we will have eternal life with Him.
Jesus is life! Jesus is our Savior. Jesus lives in us and in God. It is spirit that shows us Jesus. When the last drops of blood is gushing out from Jesus at 3, he says it is finished and he leaves the physical world in death. The cross is our reminder to be thankful for Jesus and his departure. That we do have Him in us. Our souls matter more than our bodies. We have to be faithful to Jesus all the way through. We have to be ready. And to allow Spirit channel our words, actions and etc. in this physical world. That we want to grow our souls spiritually so that we can join God in heaven. We have to lay down our lives and carry the cross. God gives us chances everyday to be more Christ like. So that we can live for Him!
I want to share some scriptures from the Bible relating to Jesus being on the cross:
Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did this so that we would stop living for sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you were healed…1 Peter 2:24
And now it has been showed to us in the coming of our Savior Christ Jesus. He destroyed death and show us the way to have life. Yes, through the Good News Jesus showed us the way to have life that cannot be destroyed–2 Timothy 1:10
But Christ died for us while we were sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us–Romans 5:8
Then Jesus said to his followers, If any of you want to be my follower, you must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following me.
Jesus died for us so that we can live together with him. It is not important if we are alive or dead when Jesus comes–1 Thessalonians 5:10
We are alive, but for Jesus we are always in danger of death, so that the life of Jesus can be seen in our bodies that die–2 Corinthians 4:11
Jesus was handed over to die for our sins, and he was raised from death to make us right with God–Romans 4:25
