Yesterday was the next session for the mom’s group at my church. This week’s theme was about the paschal mystery. It was explained more further via the symbolon dvd.
This happens over the course of Good Friday through Easter.
I see this in the version of heaven and hell. God becomes man to overcome sin. Jesus dies. Jesus is both human and divine. He was able to rise from the dead to new life. We celebrate this at Easter.
Hell is basically a place of the dead. We aren’t united with God there. We are completely separated from Him there. Satan is in hell. Hell is sin.
Heaven is the ultimate eternity. We are forever united with God.
Jesus goes through the whole process of being crucified and dying on the cross and being resurrected. He paid for our sins so that we don’t have to enter Hell and go straight to Heaven.
The cross is death. Jesus was born to Mary who was a virgin. He was sent in human flesh and to be the Savior of the people. The cross is both of God’s love and justice.
Because Jesus made this crucifying sacrifice for us, he asks us to follow Him. Because he has the power to save us. He asks us to let Him live in us and to share Him with the world. We are to look into Him for every breath of our lives, and beyond.
I share the following scriptures:
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer who I live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
