Jesus. That is who we talked about at the mom’s group at my church this morning. It was this week’s theme with the Symbolon dvd.
Jesus is the treasure for all of us. He is already here in us. Jesus is truly man and truly God. Jesus is fully human and fully divine which equals “I am”. God had become man through Jesus. Jesus was incarnated as one person with two natures. Divine and human. Jesus reveals the inner life of God to us. That He is present to us. Jesus had thoughts, emotions, desires and had physical body. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. He is the model of holiness. He was here to enable us to share his life. He is peace and harmony with God.
There are several scriptures in the Bible of Jesus as the Lord of our lives. The ones in John are the most memorable.
- “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35,48,51).
- “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12).
- “I am the door of the sheep”(John 10:7,9).
- “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11,14).
- “I am the resurrection, and the life” (John 11:25).
- “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).
- “I am the true vine” (John 15:1,5).
Jesus dealt with being both divine and humanity in every stage of his life. From birth to death. From child to adult. That He was alive and that there is eternity after death. That He lives through all of us.
That we can make the choice to decide that Jesus is for us. That we can choose to follow him. That we can choose to let Him take control of our lives. To let Him lead us the right way to glorify Him. Jesus himself had challenges when he was physically here so to help ensure us that we can get through the storms through him and God. Jesus was like us as a human but also had God’s power to do amazing things too. He is always with us. He sees us in everything we do and say. Jesus is powerful. We can call onto him first for all things, good and bad. We need to remember that we rely on Jesus in every area of our lives…..thoughts/feelings, actions, friends, family, parenting, marriage, health, and more. Jesus is to be the center of us all times. We cannot only go to him when we are in bad storms. We need to celebrate Him in good celebrations too! He calculates and recalculates us in the plans of life… He keeps finding ways to help us crave and love Jesus and know that He is still with us every step of the way. Not to fear anything, even death. Knowing that there is love and harmony and peace once we go home to Him.
