Early Autum Biblical Verses

I’m resuming where I left off in September with my biblical verses that I’ve highlighted on my bible app through my phone.  So here we go!

  • You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don’t own yourselves–1 Corinthians 6:19
  • So you must change  your hearts and lives. Come back to God, and he will forgive your sins–Acts 3:19
  • Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around  like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat–1 Peter 5:8
  • I learned the best thing for people to do is be happy and enjoy themselves as long they live–Ecclesiastes 3:12
  • Open criticism is better than hidden love–Proverbs 27:5
  • Our life is like an image in a mirror. We rush through life collecting things, but we don’t know who will get them after we die–Psalms 39:6
  • But I tell you that if a man looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, he has already committed that sin with her in his mind–Matthew 5:28
  • Now, about sex and marriage: Drink only the water that comes from your own well, and don’t let your water flow out into the streets. Keep it for yourself, and don’t share it with strangers. Be happy with your own wife. Enjoy the woman you married while you were young. She is like a beautiful deer, a lovely fawn. Let her love satisfy  you completely. Stay drunk on her love–Proverbs 5:15-19
  • The husband should give his wife what she deserves as his wife. And the wife should give her husband what he deserves as her husband. The wife does not have power over her own body. Her husband has the power over her body. And the husband does not have power over his own body. His wife has the power over his body. Don’t refuse to give your bodies to each other. But you might both agree to stay away from sex for a while so that you can give your time to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not be able to tempt you in your weakness–1 Corinthians 7:3-5
  • Make sure that I am not going the wrong way. Lead me on the path that has always been right–Psalms 139:24
  • So don’t be afraid. You are worth more than a whole flock of birds–Matthew 10:31
  • Remember the Lord your God is the one who gives you power to do these things. He does this because he wants to keep the agreement that he made with your ancestors, as he is doing today!–Deuteronomy 8:18
  • So each of us will have to explain to God about the things we do–Romans 14:12
  • You will search for me, and when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me–Jeremiah 29:13
  • We live by what we believe will happen, not by what we can see–2 Corinthians 5:7
  • So don’t lose the courage that you had in the past. Your courage will be rewarded richly–Hebrews 10:35
  • Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have–Philippians 4:6
  • Love a pure heart and kind words, and the king will be your friend–Proverbs 22:11
  • God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So your new life should be like this: Show mercy to others. Be kind, humble, gentle, and patient–Colossians 3:12
  • There is no one like the Lord our God. He sits on his throne high in heaven–Psalms 113:5
  • Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts–Isaiah 55:9
  • Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do–Philippians 4:13
  • two people will not walk together unless they have agreed to do so–Amos 3:3
  • Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could be right with God–2 Corinthians 5:21
  • We pray that the Lord will cause you to feel God’s love and remember Christ’s patient endurance–2 Thessalonians 3:5
  • God’s word is alive and working. It is sharper than the sharpest sword and cuts all the way into us. It cuts deep to the place where the soul and the spirit are joined.  God’s word cuts to the center of our joints and our bones. It judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts–Hebrews 4:12
  • I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be  troubled. Don’t be afraid–John 14:27
  • We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up–Galatians 6:9
  • Jesus answered “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.”–John 14:6
  • The Lord is my Rock, my fortress, my place of safety. He is my God, the Rock I run to for protection. He is my shield; by his power I am saved. He is my hiding place high in the hills–Psalms 18:2
  • This hope is  like an anchor for us.  It is strong and sure and keeps us safe. It goes beyond the curtain–Hebrews 6:19
  • Do all you can to live a peaceful life. Mind your own business, and earn your own living, as we told you before–1 Thessalonians 4:11
  • It teaches us not to live against God and not to do the bad things the world wants to do. It teaches us to live on earth now in a wise and right way–a way that shows true devotion to God–Titus 2:12
  • But encourage each other every day, while you have something called “today”. Help each other so that none of  you will be fooled by sin and become too hard to change–Hebrews 3:13
  • Give the Lord a chance to show you how good he is. Great blessings belong to those who depend on him!–Psalms 34:8
  • Brothers and sisters, continue to think about what is good and worthy of praise. Think about what is true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected–Philippians 4:8
  • Give your worries to the Lord, and he will care for you. He will never let those who are good be defeated–Psalms 55:22
  • Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good–Romans 12:21
  • The helper is the Spirit of truth. The people of the world cannot accept him, because they don’t see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you–John 14:17
  • Lord, your faithful love reaches the sky. Your faithfulness is as high as the clouds–Psalms 36:5
  • Sorrow is even better than laughter, because when our face is sad, our heart becomes good–Ecclesiastes 7:3
  • The only source of light for the body is the eye. If you look at people and want to help them, you will be full of light–Matthew 6:22
  • And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard all over  your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds–Philippians 4:7
  • Your love must be real. Hate what is evil. Do only what is good. Love each other in a way that makes you feel close like  brothers and sisters. And give each other more  honor than you give yourself. As you serve the Lord, work hard and don’t be lazy. Be excited about serving him! Be happy because of the hope you have.  Be patient when you have troubles. Pray all the time–Romans 12:9-12
  • Do the best you can to live in peace with everyone–Romans 12:18
  • Let everyone see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon–Philippians 4:5
  • A gentle answer makes anger disappear, but a rough answer makes it grow–Proverbs 15:1
  • Because you have these blessings, do all that you can to add to your life these things: to your faith add goodness; to your goodness add knowledge; to your knowledge add self-control; to your self-control add patience; t your patience add devotion to God; to your devotion add kindness toward your brothers and sisters in Christ, and to this kindness, add love–2 Peter 1:5-7
  • But I will sing about your strength. I will rejoice in your love every morning. You have been my place of safety, the place I can run to when troubles come–Psalms 59:16
  • I get up early in the morning to pray to you. I trust what you say–Psalms 119:147
  • If you are happy, your face shows it. If you are sad, your spirit feels defeated–Proverbs 15:13
  • So be humble under God’s powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes–1 Peter 5:6
  • Later, Jesus talked to the people again. He said “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never live in darkness. They will have the light that gives life–John 8:12
